Well being for your child
Jigsaw PHSE programme
On this page, you will find information about how to support your child's well being. As a school, we focus on well being and mindfulness within our PSHE programme (Jigsaw). There are six themes throughout the year:
- Being me in my world
- Celebrating difference
- Dreams and goals
- Healthy me
- Relationships
- Changing me
If children require additional support, we have an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) who supports children through a targetted programme of well being. We can also access support from the Well Being Worker and Mental Health Team from the Education Department. Please speak to you child's classteacher for more information about this.
Parents can again support from Parenting Services.
Bereavement
Child experience loss in many different ways. Our PSHE programme explores loss and how we might feel during this time. It is important that children know that these feelings are normal and have space to reflect and talk about their loss.
Winston's Wish has many resources for parents about dealing with loss.
Jersey Hospice Care have a bereavement service for adults and children.
