Jersey Premium is a targeted funding programme for schools which was introduced to help all children get the very best from their education. The funding is designed to ensure that all pupils receive high-quality teaching based on a detailed understanding of their needs or barriers to learning.
There are 3 groups of children eligible for Jersey Premium;
· Children who live in a household receiving Income Support
· Children who live in a ‘Registered’ household that could receive Income Support (i.e. it meets the requirements of the Social Security Department) but have not yet lived in Jersey for five years or more
· Looked After Children (i.e. who are under the care of Social Services)
