Children in our Y2 class have produced fantastic writing which is inspired by story called Beegu which is all about an alien lost on Earth. This linked with our Eco/Science day where they used recycled materials and worked in teams to create space suits. We have contacted Nasa to see what they think!
The football team were invited on Saturday to be the mascot for the Jersey Bulls at Springfield Stadium for their game against Chessington & Hook. As well as walking onto the pitch with the players and watching the football game with their families, the children played mini-matches on the pitch at half time. What a fantastic experience to be inspired by.
Year 5 have been focused on their art learning, linking to their Science topic about space. A great use of pastels to create different shades.
The Nursery children were very lucky today to have a real bee keeper in school. They learnt about bees, tasted the honey with their snack and made bees wax candles.
Year 6 have experienced a fantastic day of Local History. This morning we had a special visitor in our classroom to tell her story of growing up during the occupation and this afternoon we have had a trip to the archives to see footage and documents from the occupation itself. The children showed a huge amount of care and respect to the people who have helped us learn more today, as well as respect for those that suffered during occupation itself.
We were delighted to welcome our link school in Montmatin Sur Mer in school on Monday and Tuesday. Our Year 6 children are pen pals and enjoyed meeting each other in person! They spent time getting to know each other, speaking in French and English, playing games, singing and having lunch together.
St Martin's, along with all schools in Jersey, is shut today due to the weather.
What an exciting day! Today has been our Dreams and Goals day linked to our PSHE learning about our aspirations for the future. We have had various people from many different professions coming into school to share what they do, answer lots of questions, share aspirations for the future and even do something practical. Thank you so much for everyone who gave up thier time to support us. It has been an amazing day!
