We are looking forward to Friday for our first 'Dreams and Goals' day linked to our PSHE and careers curriculum. We have invited into school people from a variety of professions to tell the children about their job and inspire them for their future.
Well done to the St Martin's football team who played in a 5-a-side tournament on Saturday at Fort Regent. They all worked really well together and enjoyed their games against other schools.
Over the half term, we set families a challenge of carving pumpkins together. Children have bought thier pumpkin in to school today to be judged. They look fantastic! Well done to everyone who took part.
Today our School Council supported a charity called Mary's Meals who provides breakfast for children who are in need of it. For a small donation, children, parents and staff had a delicious porridge breakfast with lots of different toppings.
Well done to children in Y5/6, parents and staff who took part in the 3km Fun Runas part of the Jersey Marathon. It was a fantastic event where we saw determination, perseverance, team work and everyone enjoying themselves! Well done St Martin’s.
The Jersey Youth Service have created a 31 Days of Summer challenge, with 31 different activities you can do (one each day of the summer).
Year 6 - please practise these songs.
This is an 8 mile route which goes past the bays which we have named our houses - Fliquet, St Catherine's, Archirondel and Anne Port. We will have lunch at Anne Port. Year 2 will walk around 5 miles (stopping at Anne Port), however there is an opportunity to continue if the children feel strong enough.
The Year 6 class are enjoying their Scout Hut residential visit. This morning, they started the day with a Yoga session. What a great way to start the day.
30 children from St Martin's took part in Jersey Sings. They had the opportunity to join with 600 other children from Jersey schools, a professional band and two amazing professional singers in a huge concert.
The Island athletic championships are underway! Well done to all the children who are representing St Martin's and working together to support each other in doing the best they can.
